NVIDIA has launched its second generation of stereo 3D technology which improves many aspects of using stereo 3D on computers and 3D Vision 2 is designed to make the experience more immersive. NVIDIA has designed the active shutter glasses with a 20% larger lens so that players don’t see the frames and the monitors are also brighter to compensate for the loss of brightness that is inherent to active-shutter glasses. The company also assures us that these glasses will be backward compatible with older 3D Vision panels and look for them this month in the form of either standalone frames ($99) or as part of a $149 kit…………….

NVIDIA intros 3D Vision 2 glasses with brighter field of view, comfier design. The next generation of NVIDIA’s award-winning 3D glasses, features a sleek new design and other features to enhance experience by playing 3D games, or enjoying 3D movies or photos. These shutter glasses have a lens that’s 20 percent larger, with NVIDIA’s new LightBoost a unique new display technology that dramatically improves the 3D experience by delivering images brighter view and colors that are far richer than those provided by other 3D display technologies. As for the newest 3D Vision monitors and laptops, those panels promise reduced ghosting, as well as 120GHz 2D gaming. In tandem with today’s announcement, NVIDIA announced that a trio of products the Toshiba Qosmio X770 / 775, Toshiba Satellite P770 / P775 and ASUS’s 27-inch VG278H 1080p monitor will support now 3D Vision 2. Garmin introduced with it’s two new member of the aera family, the aera 796 and aera 795. The 796 sports a seven-inch, 480 x 800 capacitive touchscreen features Garmin’s 3D Vision technology. 3D Vision to electronic charts and weather data, it’s almost like having a glass cockpit that you can fit in your flight bag. The GPS position and the terrain-alerting database to recreate a behind-the-aircraft perspective view of the topographic landscape.
