LG has rather predictably come to the rescue with the 3D Game Converter, an Open GL powered piece of software that allows you to switch 2D applications straight into 3D and the software is set to be included in the first maintenance release for the Optimus 3D, which will be pushed out around October time depending on the carrier. The engine can be used by developers to quickly and easily release 3D versions of their existing 2D games and it will end up providing customers with more content for their 3D-enabled hardware. The Optimus 3D will get the 3D Game Converter via an update scheduled for October and will be on display at IFA in Berlin and also will probably be running some 3D games………….

SONY Unveils The First Digital Recording Binoculars

Sony has launched the world’s first Digital Binoculars with HD video recording. Sony released two models are DEV-3 and the DEV-5 are the first binoculars that can record HD video, be it in either 2D or 3D 1920 x 1080 AVCHD. Sony offer camera-like features and are priced at $1,399 and $1,999, respectively. Each pair includes two Exmor R CMOS sensors for native 3D video capture, dual f/1.8-3.4, 0.5-10x optical zoom lenses, and a pair of 1,227-dot viewfinders. The DEV-5 will add GPS and a 10x digital zoom into the mix. There’s also Memory Stick Pro Duo and SDXC support, stereo microphones with an audio input jack, and HDMI out. HDI 3D Introduced HD Laser-Driven 2D/3D Projectors For Home Theater

HDI 3D announces it has begun manufacturing its line of proprietary and patented Laser-Driven 2D/3D Switchable Dynamic Video Projectors. The 120-inch diagonal screen offers 70 Foot Lambert in 2D and 35 Foot Lambert in 3D, and the 200 and 300-inch diagonal screens offer 35 Foot Lambert in 2D and 18 Foot Lambert in 3D. A full 100 of the systems will be available on February 14th as part of a pre-production run, but they certainly won’t be cheap. The expected prices ranging from $55,000 to $85,000. HTC has officially opened the doors to HTCDev.com, its new developer portal and the future home for all bootloader unlocking tools and HTCDev consists of guidance and tutorials for coding for HTC smartphones, as well as the HTC OpenSense SDK framework. Blair outlined that the development portal will offer SDK, tutorials, sample code, binaries, kernel source code and specific HTC APIs for use with the EVO 3D, and the HTC Pen SDK.
