First Firefox Mobile OS Phones Announced, Operators Support Initiative

Mozilla has confirmed today that devices featuring its new mobile OS, under the Firefox brand, will commercially arrive on 2013. Initially, two mobile phone manufactures, TCL Communication Technology (Alcatel) and ZTE, will launch devices featuring Firefox OS. The first mobile phones featuring the new OS will launch commercially in Brazil next year through Telefónica’s commercial brand, Vivo. Other leading global operators including Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia and Telenor are also backing the initiative.
