Real D and Samsung LCD Completed A License Agreement

Samsung, RealD announce licensing agreement for new LCD-based 3D panels, which promise to deliver full resolution HD images to each eye by integrating active shutter technology directly within an LCD. Samsung and RealD’s technology is an answer to the current, widespread use of active-shutter glasses with today’s 3D TVs and those glasses require batteries to operate and can be quite expensive, sequentially block out the left or right eye about 120 times per second to create the 3D effect. Samsung and RealD plan on licensing their technology to consumer electronics manufacturers and their technology will come to PC monitors first in early 2012 on 23- and 27-inch displays………

An IP holding company is apparently attempting to sue iOS app developers over their use of Apple-sanctioned in-app purchases, which use Apple-designed code on Apple devices and continuing today, a small but growing list of iOS developers received notice via a FedEx-delivered package that they were under threat of legal action from a patent holder.
