Samsung said earlier that the Galaxy S III will be available in the United States starting this month from five carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and US Cellular. But the rival company Apple Inc. is trying to hinder sales of Samsung’s latest Galaxy smartphones in the United States. Apple has requested to a federal judge to block sales of Samsung products including their upcoming Galaxy SIII.

Samsung released the Galaxy S III in UK on May 29. Apple accused Samsung of unlawfully copying designs and technologies used in iPhone. On the other side, Samsung accused Apple of copying their designs and technology for mobile devices.

But why is this accusation? Can’t be told surely, but the reason could be this. Samsung lost its position to Apple from the global smartphone market. But, the Galaxy products helped Samsung regain the lead in the global smartphone market from Apple in the first quarter. Galaxy series of smartphones won popularity among consumers seeking an Android-powered device. As Samsung has already sold 24 million Galaxy SI and 28 million Galaxy SII phones, it affected the Apple’s sales. And, now when Samsung has started marketing the Galaxy SIII in London which has voice-command options and an eye sensor features that prevents the screen from dimming, Apple takes a notion that it would affect their sales more.

Apple has filed a case 12-cv-00630, US District Court, Northern District of California (San Jose) against Samsung on June 5. Moreover, on Tuesday, Apple requested US district court to temporarily ban sales of the SIII smartphone before its launch in the United States. On this matter, Samsung Electronics Co. mentioned on Thursday that it will fight Apple’s move to stop US sales of its new Galaxy phone.

The interesting thing is Apple requested Samsung not to launch the Galaxy SIII in the US until the court gives a decision. But, Samsung refused request and mentioned that Apple’s pending preliminary injunction motion will have no bearing on the release date of the Galaxy SIII.

In fact, Samsung believes that Apple’s request is absolutely absurd. So, they will vigorously oppose the request and demonstrate to the court that the Galaxy S III is innovative and distinctive.

A hearing on Apple’s motion for preliminary injunction is scheduled for Thursday, means today. Lets see, what happens between Samsung, the world’s largest technology company by revenue and Apple, the world’s most valuable company.
