Recently, we reported about a leaked document which claimed to contain the roadmap for Microsoft’s future plans regarding Xbox 720 and the accessories that would go with the next-generation game console, such as Kinect Glasses. Earlier, we were not sure whether or not the document was genuine.  However, it now seems that the document was indeed Microsoft’s property.

How can we be so sure of this? Well, because Microsoft is asking around different websites who are hosting the document to take it down. These takedown notices have been sent to a number of websites.

A Czech-Republic based tech website, Ihned.cz, has also been sent a takedown notice by the company which reads:

Microsoft has received information that the domain listed above, which appears to be on servers under your control, is offering unlicensed copies of, or is engaged in other unauthorized activities relating to copyrighted works published by Microsoft.

1. Identification of copyrighted works:

Copyrighted work(s):
IEB Roadmap

Copyright owner:
Microsoft Corporation

2. Copyright infringing material or activity found at the following location(s):

xxxxxxxxxxx-XBox-720-9-24-Checkpoint-Draft-1.pptx

This pretty much shows that the document was indeed original and that is precisely why Microsoft is trying to have it removed from the web. Microsoft has, in the past too, tried to secure its leaked intellectual property by sending takedown notices to different websites.

What is interesting is that Dropbox has also been asked by Microsoft to take down the document from its cloud and now, the document is no longer available on the cloud service.
