Technology has slowly and gradually entered into every realm of our lives. In sports too, technology has come about to play a huge role. For instance, an NFL team, Philadelphia Eagles, is offering season tickets which come with bonus augmented reality features. The team claims that it’s the first time technology has been used for NFL tickets.

So how exactly do the augmented reality features work with NFL tickets? When fans purchase their season tickets and hover their smartphones over them, they are able to unlock a whole host of content from the team. The content includes highlights, messages from players, videos, analysis and a lot more.

To add a dash of exclusivity to this feature, every fan who has purchased a ticket unlocks different content. In this way, every fan can claim that he has access to exclusive Philadelphia Eagles content through his pass.

To create this cutting-edge augmented reality feature, the team has partnered with the augmented reality company, Aurasma. According to the president of Eagles, “We are always trying to provide new features and experiences for our fans. We think there’s a real wow factor when season ticket holders hold their smartphones over these tickets and watch them come to life, launching videos that showcase some of our fans’ favorite players.”

The tech-ventures of Eagles do not end here. The team is apparently quite tech-savvy and in the past, had announced a partnership with Angry Birds to create a specific version of the game. You can watch the promo video of Eagles below which provides a glimpse at the augmented reality feature:
