One of the most impressive gadgets presented at this year’s edition of Consumer Electronics Show was Samsung’s proposition as a geeky replacement for a window. No one was surprised when Samsung’s Smart Window won the Innovation Award and the tech journalist present at the event already showered the sleek transparent device with enthusiastic reviews.
The transparent screen can fit any window up to 46 inch resolution of 1366 x 768. Although the device is transparent, the images displayed by the screen are completely private for the people inside. The device has touch screen that has features like Twitter integration, displays weather, or even recipes while under the information displayed on Samsung’s transparent window the outside view is completely apparent. A Blinds option lets the user adjust the light entered from outside.
To make the device even cooler, the company announced that its Smart Window is partially powered by solar light. The innovative screen uses only 10% of the power needed from the regular power source and the sun supplies the rest. The only frustrating thing is that no release date has been published yet. And also no one outside Samsung has any idea about the price tag.
