There are literally a whole plethora of platforms in the social media where users upload their pics and share them. While this has made photo-sharing a quick process, it has also made it somewhat cumbersome. That is because it becomes increasingly hard to keep track of all your photos across all these platforms and have them organized in a neat way.

That is where the role of ThisLife comes in. It is a digital photo organizer, the idea of which was envisioned to accomplish the very task of organizing the digital photos. The venture is still in its budding and it has now been able to secure a significant sum of $2.75 million from Madrona Venture Group.

The funding is surely going to bolster the progress of this venture. According to the co-founder and CEO of ThisLife, “ThisLife takes all the pain out of managing your life’s memories.”

Basically, ThisLife is able to organize all your photos by uploading them all to a common place online where family members can then access them. Moreover, it comes with a number of other features such as automatic facial detection and image duplication so that you don’t end up adding multiple copies of the same image.

For now, ThisLife is being offered for free for 1,000 photos and an hour of video. Users can expand this to include 20,000 photos and 10 hours of video by paying $7.99 per month.

According to Greg Gottesman of ThisLife, “ThisLife isn’t about sharing with thousands of people I barely know on Facebook or publishing to the world on Instagram or the latest app—it’s about being able to easily find and store that incredible picture of my wife holding my oldest son at birth or the video of my daughter finishing third at her school’s long jump and making sure I have those at my fingertips wherever I am and whenever I want.  I can then share those memories if I choose to or not.”
