Linus Torvalds, the father of Linux operating system and the qualified grandfather of Android platform, has shared his thoughts on Google’s new tablet Nexus 7. He seemed to like it. His impressions were “So far: very positive.” Nexus 7 is getting really big fan following with its unaltered Android interface and rock-bottom price.
Linus Torvalds seems to like the unaltered ‘plain Android’ look of the Nexus 7. He really bashed the manufacturers for skinning Android with their “horrible” “pee in the snow” model. I guess, lots of other Android fans would agree.
Torvalds doesn’t have an issue with a ‘missing’ rear camera or an absence of camera app in the tablet. However, he seemed a lit annoyed with Nexus 7’s Gmail app.
Torvalds seems to like Nexus 7 as a reader because of its smooth color screen. Though, he likes the E-Ink display of the Kindle for eye-friendly reading, just like me. However, Torvalds acknowledged that Nexus 7 has the right size, shape and weight for a tablet cum e-reader.
