Compact Linux computer hardware packs have been of a lot of interests to the Linux fans. This February, the $35 Raspberry Pi ARM board created a huge buzz. The only drawback of the Rapsberry Pi ARM board was its low configuration. But, a Korean hardware manufacturer called Hardkernel has launched an affordable high ended alternative. The Hardkernel’s new ODROID-X board equips with a Samsung Exynos 4 processor, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, a quad-core Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM, six USB host ports, an Ethernet adapter, headphone and microphone jacks, and an SDHC card slot for storage.
The Hardkernel’s ODROID-X board is still highly compact which is about 3.5 x 3.7 inches in horizontal form factor. The company has used the Cortex-A9 that uses the ARMv7 architecture in the system. This board can run the latest version of Ubuntu, even Android. The ODROID-X board is now available at Hardkernel for $129.
