Type Cover Tactile Keyboard For Surface Tablets Unveiled By Microsoft

Microsoft has suddenly stirred the tablet market as well as the whole tech world by unveiling its own family of Surface tablets. These tablets definitely have a knack of mesmerizing many since they have stunning looks, great hardware and naturally, run Windows 8, which can be a great winner for Windows users. The company has also unveiled some useful accessories to go with these tablets.

For instance, keyboards are becoming an increasingly important accessory to go with the tablets. Keeping this in view, Microsoft has presented the prospective Surface tablet users with two options when it comes to keyboards for their tablets.

One of them is the Touch Cover keyboard. This keyboard has already been revealed by Microsoft earlier and as its name suggests, it makes use of the standard capacitive touch keyboard. Being a mere 3mm thick, it can be an ideal choice for those who feel more comfortable with touch input than input with regular keyboard.

However, there are many such users who feel far more comfortable registering their input through a regular keyboard. And for such users, Microsoft has now unveiled a Type Cover keyboard. This keyboard comprises of actual keys and can be an idea for the regular keyboard users.

One of the trade-offs of using the Type Cover keyboard, over a Touch Cover keyboard, is that Touch Cover is slimmer. Type Cover, on the other hand, is 2mm thicker than Touch Cover, putting it at 5mm thick. However, that shouldn’t be too much of a trade-off for those who feel comfortable using it.
