Apple And Samsung Gear Up For The Big Battle

The legal qualms of both Apple and Samsung have continued for quite some years now. But so far, they haven’t produced any solid results, continuing the tussle between the two tech titans. However, the battle may be entering in its final stage as Apple and Samsung gear up to present their arguments at a Californian court today.

Before the court can start hearing the arguments, the lawyers from both sides will be choosing ten people to be a part of this jury. Naturally, each of them will try to pick such people who have no connections whatsoever to their company.

Once the jury selection is complete, the lawyers of both companies will move on to the arguments. Unlike the previous cases between Apple and Samsung, they will have a limited time when presenting their arguments and will have to stay focused on the core issues, as per the directions of the US judge Lucy Koh.

The chief bone of contention between the two seems to be monetary benefits right now. Apple claimed last week that Samsung owes Apple $2.52 billion in damages for having infringed its patents. Samsung, on the other hand, responded by stating that Apple couldn’t have sold a single iPhone without making use of its patents, so it should be the one who is paid.

There is a little gleam of hope that this case may indeed turn out to be decisive for both companies. And that at the end of it, we may be able to see some substantial decisions.
