Smartphone Users In US May Face More Call Drop, Spamming And Slow Download Speeds

Cell phone users may change their cell phone and gravitate to smartphones, but they often forget that, changing the cell phone doesn’t upgrade neither the network nor the services of their mobile service provider. According to a new study by the Pew Research Center‘s Internet & American Life Project, smartphone owners in future may report related to call drop, spamming and slow download speeds.

Despite the cellular carriers have come up with 3G, 4G and 4G LTE systems, but subscribers are still reporting regarding the wireless-data systems.

Pew Research Center has made a survey on 2,254 mobile-phone users in March and April. According to that survey report –

  • 49% of smartphone users meet slow Internet speed at least once in each week compared to 31% of basic phone users.
  • 35% smartphone users experience dropped calls weekly compared to 28% of other cell phone users.
  • 72% cell phone users lose calls occasionally.
  • 68% mobile phone users get unwanted sales or marketing calls.
  • 69% people receive unwanted spam or text messages.
  • 77% of mobile Web users encounter slow download speeds on occasion.
  • 46% of mobile Web users encounter slow download speeds weekly.

Comparison Of Problems

It is clear that, at present many smartphone owners in US are having more problems with download speeds, dropped calls, marketing calls and spam messages than other people who use feature phones. In future, it could be even worse.
