Chinese Undercover Reporter Reveals Working Conditions At Foxconn

Foxconn has been bitterly criticized in the recent past for not providing its workers with good enough salaries and working conditions. The heat also spilled on to Apple which has most of its devices manufactured by Foxconn. Now, merely hours ahead of Apple’s launch of iPhone 5, a Chinese reporter has revealed more horrors about Foxconn factories.

Foxconn workers

The reporter apparently went ‘undercover’ to a Foxconn factory and worked there for a few days to get a first-hand experience of things. Working for Shanghai Evening Post, this reporter spent 10 days working in the factory and was even involved in working on the upcoming iPhone 5.

In his report, he writes, “The first night sleeping at Foxconn dormitory is a nightmare. The whole dormitory smells like garbage when I walked in. It’s a mixed of overnight garbage smell plus dirty sweat and foam smell. Outside every room was fully piled up with uncleared trash. When I opened my wardrobe, lots of cockroaches crawl out from inside and the bedsheets that are being distributed to every new workers are full of dirts and ashes.”

He then goes on to reveal how workers have to work long hours. He claims that he had to mark 5 iPhone plates every minute and had to continue this work for 10 hours each day. In total, there were four productions lines with 12 workers each, which dealt with this part of the manufacture.

While we can’t be sure of how true or authentic this report is, the fact that it has been revealed just hours ahead of the iPhone 5 launch is quite interesting.

We shouldn’t forget, every Tunnel has two hole. The illuminated hole comes at front, not the dark ones. People try to hide the dark ones. But truth is bitter and never lies behind false. And this is the dark hole Apple Inc. Ha Ha Ha…. Thanks Salman.
