New IE10 Ad – It Stinks Less, Claims Microsoft

In March this year, Microsoft launched a clever ‘Browser you love(d) to hate’ campaign to entice the users back to its browser, Internet Explorer 10. As part of the campaign, the company has now released a new ad which claims that the browser stinks…less.

Internet Explorer 10

The ad apparently shows a person, representing the youthful PC users most of which have ditched the Internet Explorer in favor of other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. This person opens up different social media websites, reads favorable reviews about Internet Explorer 10 and responds angrily to these reviews with comments such as ‘IE Sucks.’

However, he is then told of the cool features of IE10. For instance, he reads on the web that the new version of the browser comes with a Karaoke Web Standard. Being a Karaoke enthusiast himself, the youth is shown to be fairly impressed by this new feature.

He then goes on to admit, ‘IE stinks….less’ and Microsoft terms that ‘progress’ in the next screen. The company has taken a fairly wise way to revive its browser. It knows that Internet Explorer lacks behind the other browser in many ways.

So rather than lambasting its rivals, as is the norm these days, Microsoft has chosen to throw in a mix of self-pity for its browsers and coupled it with the new features that it has added to the new version of the browser, thus letting the users know that it admits its drawbacks and has significantly improved on them.
