Apple Agrees Not To Include Samsung Galaxy S III Mini In Its Patent Case

The legal battle between Samsung and Apple seems to know no end. Both have launched multiple lawsuits against each other all around the globe with mixed results for either. Apple recently decided to add more Samsung devices to its patent claim against Samsung but has now removed Galaxy S III mini from that list.

Apple recently suffered a slight setback when an ITC judge clearly ruled that the court didn’t find enough reason to call for a ban on the multiple Samsung devices that Apple had cited as infringing its patents. But the company has regardless continued its legal war.

When filing a patent claim in the U.S., companies must limit themselves to such products which are available in the country. Apple has been steadily increasing the list of Samsung devices that it is litigating against and possibly wants to have banned in U.S.

It had originally filed against a whole host of Samsung devices back in November. But since then, Samsung has pointed out that adding Galaxy S III mini to the list is absurd since the device isn’t even available in U.S.

Apple, naturally, had to agree to the contention and has decided to remove the device from its list. The argument cited by Samsung also tends to answer the queries of many – that the company has no plans of bringing Galaxy S III mini to the U.S. market.
