Samsung Starts Accepting Pre-Order For $38K 85-Inch Ultra HD TV In Korea

CES 2013 has been a big-screen galore this year. A number of vendors, including the likes of LG, Sony and Samsung took the occasion to unveil new HD TVs at this year’s show, showing off the sheer beauty of ultra-high pixel density packed within. Samsung has already put up its 85-inch S9 Ultra HD TV for pre-orders in Korea, offering it at a price of 40,000,000 won (roughly $37,877).

Samsung’s $37,877 price tag is quite high and it remains to be seen how the electronics-maker intends to pull it off. It is an inch larger than LG’s similar offering, and packs 214 cm of 4K excellence. The 85-inch TV also ships with two build-in 2.2 channel speakers which makes the package rather complete in terms of audio and video. It also features a quad-core CPU to keep all the components functioning smoothly.

The main contest that Samsung might have would be from LG, which is essentially packaging nearly the same amount of screen area and awesomeness in a substantially lower price tag. To be exact, LG’s price lingers near $20,000, whereas Samsung’s offering is nearly $18,000 higher than that.
