ZTE Geek Smartphone With Intel Atom Processor Announced At IDF Beijing

ZTE announced its new Geek smartphone on April 10 in the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. The main attraction of the phone is its Intel’s new 32nm Atom processor with significant power efficiency over Intel’s previous generation processors.

Intel’s 32nm Atom Z2580 processor has a CPU frequency of 2.0 GHZ, and comes with 8GB eMMC+1GBRAM. The device runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Compared to Intel’s previous generation processors, the Clover Trail+ processor is twice as fast for computing and three times as fast for graphics.

The ZTE Geek also features a 5-inch HD screen with 1280×720 resolution, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1-megapixel front camera, LED supplement light, and 2,300mAh large-capacity battery.

Along with the Geek smartphone, ZTE also introduced its V98 tablet and Grand X In smartphone on the same day. ZTE did not provide any information regarding price or availability yet.
