Google Brings In-Depth Articles To Search Results

When using Google search for different topics, every once in a while, we want to get straight to the top-quality articles. To help us with it, Google is now bringing ‘in-depth articles’ to its search results.

Google search

The idea behind this new feature in Google search is to let the users get straight to the kind of content they are looking for. For instance, when a user is searching ‘stem cell research’, he isn’t exactly looking for a fact or two, but a detailed article which provides the relevant information.

According to a blog post by Google’s Pandu Nayak, “Our research indicates perhaps 10 percent of people’s daily information needs fit this category — topics like stem cell research, happiness, and love, to name just a few. That’s why over the next few days we’ll be rolling out a new feature to help you find relevant in-depth articles in the main Google Search results.”

Once the features roll out, the search results will be able to display high-quality articles by using a specific algorithm. This will essentially let the user steer clear of such links which provide brief pieces of information and jump straight to a detailed piece of writing.

Nayak further writes in his post, “I’m happy to see people continue to invest in thoughtful in-depth content that will remain relevant for months or even years after publication. This is exactly what you’ll find in the new feature. In addition to well-known publishers, you’ll also find some great articles from lesser-known publications and blogs.”
