Apple Releases iOS 7.1 Beta 2 For The Developers

Apple has rolled out the second beta of iOS 7.1 to its developers. The new beta takes care of a number of bugs in iOS 7.1 and also includes some minor visual improvements.

iOS 7

Apple released the first beta of iOS 7.1 back in mid-November in which many minor new features and improvements were included. The build came with a new extra burst mode uploading option for the camera in iOS devices. Apple had also added a new option called ‘dark keyboard’ in the Accessibility section.

The second beta comes with a build number 11D5115d. Interestingly enough, the ‘dark keyboard’ option is gone in this build. However, there’s a new ‘Button Shapes‘ option which lets you know where, on a screen, can you tap to elicit a response of some sort. Once you turn on the option, the tappable areas are highlighted for easier navigation.

When it comes to bug fixes, beta 2 has finally taken care of the audio issues with tone settings. Some iOS users have complained in the past that all tones sound the same as the default tone on their devices, which is apparently a result of some bug. Users afflicted with this problem will be relieved to know that this bug has been fixed in the new build.

Apple has also consolidated the Touch ID and Passcode settings to the main Settings menu while they were previously located in the General Settings. The Yahoo logo in this build has been touched up and the overall animations are comparatively quick.

Registered Apple developers can get their hands on iOS 7.1 beta 2 by going to Apple’s developer center. Alternatively, the new release is also available via an over-the-air update.
