Samsung Galaxy S5 Specs Leak Online, Expected To Come In Two Versions

It would appear that Samsung is following in the footsteps of Apple. SamMobile reports that according to certain ‘sources’, it has learned that Samsung will be releasing metallic and plastic versions of its upcoming flagship Galaxy S5 handset.

Naturally, the metallic model is going to retail for a far higher price compared to its plastic brother. The metal version will pack an Exynos 6 model, which will come with 64-bit support as well as built-in LTE support. This version will reportedly be priced at $1092, which may sound a little too much for most smartphone users.

The plastic version will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip and given its cheaper make, will cost $888. Again, the price tag may sound too steep for a smartphone which packs a plastic body.

Both handsets are expected to pack a 5.25-inch Super AMOLED display which will support Quad HD resolution at 2560 x 1440. Moreover, a 16-megapixel camera is expected in both, although there’s a possibility that the camera is of a lower grade in the plastic model. Android KitKat 4.4 is nearly confirmed for both handsets.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed any of these specs, so we will have to take these reports with a grain of salt for now. Both handsets are expected to arrive sometime later this year. Following its own traditions, Samsung may also release budget-friendly versions of the new flagship S5. These will be called Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom.
