Day by day more celebrities and international renowned figures are joining Twitter. Bill Gates started tweeting last month, yesterday rapper Lil Wayne joined the service. Now today His His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama joins twitter. It’s not fake. It’s a verified account.
For some time there has been an account, @DalaiLama, which was fake. That account was fooling the media and the twitterverse early last year.. That is why the term verified Twitter accounts has been created.

This Dalai Lama is verified by Twitter, though — it is the real deal. Currently, the account is pulling albums and blog posts from his website and tweeting them via twitterfeed, though we bet you’ll see real engagement later on. He also only has about 600 followers, but as the media picks up on his new-found Twitter presence, that will grow as well.
