As we near the expect iPad 3 launch in March, more and more sources are claiming to know some ‘inside scoops’ about the device. This latest claim comes from RepairLabs who has posted some ‘leaked’ photos of iPad 3 rear shell. In these photos, the rear shell of iPad 3 is significantly different than iPad 2. The space for battery is larger, affirming the rumor that the battery of iPad 3 will provide more life to the device. The camera also looks different from iPad 2 whereas the mounting dock for LCS is also significantly different from that in iPad 2.
The allegedly leaked photos show a number of different between iPad 3 and iPad 2 rear shell structures. The most noticeable different is in the mounts for logic boards, which means that the logic board of iPad 3 will be different from that of iPad 2. But what would be the capabilities of this different logic board in iPad 3? That is open to many possibilities.
The place for the logic board on the rear shell is larger than it was in iPad 2. This means that we may witness a battery which will charge iPad 3 up for a time much longer than the battery time of iPad 2. This had earlier been said by a number of analysts and this latest leak goes on to affirm that.
There is also a significant difference between the cameras of two devices. Whereas it’s hard to guess from looking at the difference that what will be new in the iPad 3 camera, the photos certainly affirm that the camera in iPad 3 will be different from that in iPad 2.
Finally, there’s a noticeable change in the structure of mounting for LCD. This definitely means that the LCD for iPad 3 will be different from that in iPad 2. What we know for sure is that the resolution for iPad 3 display will be lot higher than that of iPad 2.
RepairLabs claims that the thickness of the two tablets seems to be quite similar, contrary to the expectations that Apple will make iPad 3 even thinner than iPad 2.
