Microsoft To Launch Xbox Music On October 26

It’s just not the Windows 8 or Surface tablets Microsoft is planning to release on October 26. The software giant will launch music service for Xbox on the same day. The Verge reported the new development citing sources familiar with Microsoft’s plan. The new Xbox Music service will be available on Windows Phone, Windows 8 and Xbox 360.

Microsoft Xbox Music

The new music service from Microsoft will follow a similar model like Spotify. An-ad supported free streaming subscription will be available for users. Users will have the option to go ad-free with premium subscriptions, report says.

The Xbox Music is said to support SkyDrive cloud storage. Users will be able to store music and create playlists using this cloud service. Microsoft will make the Xbox Music service available across multiple platforms other than its own, such as iOS and Android. However, the apps might not be available immediately after launch. Microsoft will also release a Xbox dashboard update to support Xbox Music on the gaming consoles.
