Japanese Professor Creates A Swimming Jellyfish Robot Based On Space Jellyfish Theme

Yoichiro Kawaguchi, a professor of Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies at the University of Tokyo, has created a swimming Jellyfish robot based on a theme of “Space Jellyfish”. The robot is just an artistic interpretation of what a jellyfish in space might look like.

Kawaguchi ultimately wants to make not only traditional handicraft, but also something which will be capable of space travel. He has put some simple configurations and focused on creating the elegant movements of the Jellyfish. Now he is planning to use the incorporation of high-tech functions in future product development.
