Omega Envoy Launches Kickstarter Project To Raise Money

A number of teams from around the world are competing in what is known as the Google Lunar X Prize (GLXP). In this competition, the competing teams try to build a vehicle of their own which can take a small trip to the moon. Omega Envoy is the team that is participating from Florida and is backed by the parent company, Earthrise Space Inc.

As happens quite often, Omega  Envoy is facing the problem of lack of funds in order to complete the construction of their vehicle. To counter this, the team has come up with a rather interesting idea: that of launching a Kickstarter project and offer to take people’s DNAs to moon in return for their funds.

Details of Omega Envoy Kickstarter project:
In total, the team is looking forward to gather funds to the tune of $200,000 by July 26.  So far, they have been able to get $2,045 which is kind of rather disappointing. But then, probably the funding may gain traction over the coming days.

As a backer of the project, you can pledge from $2 to $10,000 and more. The rewards include, depending on the amount of your funds, a number of things such as ‘lunar stress ball’ to Omega Envoy t-shirts to a lunar globe. If you are able to muster $3000 or more, you may as well take a visit to the facility of the team in Florida and get to meet the actual guys. However, to actually make the team take your DNA to the surface of the Moon, you have got to pay $10,000 or more.

So if you are a fan of space expeditions or if you wish to have a part of you being take to the space and perhaps feel like making history, you definitely ought to check out this project.
