A couple of days ago we reported that Italian luxury car maker Ferrari unveiled its new 1 million euro ($1.3 million) hybrid car “LaFerrari“ at Geneva Motor Show. We already know that the car comes with two iPad mini in the back of the front seats to entertain back seated riders. But what we need to know about the car is, LaFerrari is the world’s fastest and the most expensive hybrid car to date.
LaFerrari is the very first four seated 12-cylinder hybrid car with 949 horsepower via a 789-horsepower 6.3-liter V12 gasoline engine and a 160-horsepower electric motor. The car can gear up its speed from 0-62 mph (100kmph) in less than 3 seconds, 0-124 mph in less than 7 seconds, 0-186 mph (0-300 kmph) in 15 seconds. Besides, the car has a top speed of 217 mph (350 kmph). The car has recorded lap time of less than 1 minute 20 seconds on the company’s test track in Fiorano, near its Maranello headquarters, in Italy. Except speed, Ferrari has also looked after on entertainment. To provide entertainment rear seated passengers, Ferrari has put two iPad minis in the back of the front seats of LaFerrari.
LaFerrari is the company’s first hybrid car. It has a system that incorporates technology developed for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One race car’s KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) setup. While the LaFerrari was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, Luca Cordero Di Montezemolo, Chairman of Ferrari announced that Ferrari was negotiating with Apple to bring more “in-car entertainment” inside the car.
Ferrari announced that it’ll make only 499 LaFerrari and none will be made in right-hand-drive. With the price of 1 million euro ($1.3 million), LaFerrari is the world’s fastest and most expensive hybrid car to date.
