Android KitKat And Nexus 5 May Arrive Next Month

Google made a lot of headlines when it recently confirmed the name of its upcoming Android 4.4 as KitKat. Reports have it now that the search giant may unveil its new handset, Nexus 5, as well as Android KitKat in October this year.

Nexus 5

Apple has just unveiled its new iPhone 5S, the fresh offering from the company in the range of top-end smartphones. While speculations about a Nexus 5 have been around for a while now, many experts think that this may be the perfect timing for Google to unveil the new handset.

Not to mention that a new smartphone is long overdue on Google. As being the champion of the Android platform, Google has pushed out some really remarkable handsets under the Nexus line-up, over the past few years. It is time for the company to offer a new contender, to rival the likes of iPhone 5S and Galaxy Note’s new model.

The reports so far suggest that LG will be the manufacturer of Nexus 5 and that Google may announce the phone at an October 14 launch event. The handset will be equipped with Android KitKat, being the first smartphone to become available with the latest Android version.

If these estimates turn out to be true, it remains to be seen what kind of hardware LG is relying on to make Nexus 5 a solid offering in a smartphone market that is becoming increasingly competitive. Not only that, we also expect Android KitKat to arrive with a plethora of new features.
