iOS 7 has arrived only a few days ago and a number of users have already reported a number of bugs in the new version of the firmware. According to reports, a user can make non-emergency calls from a handset running iOS 7, even when the lockscreen is set.
To be able to circumvent the lockscreen, a person must physically have the handset running iOS 7. The next step is to simply type a number when the Emergency Call screen appears. After entering the number, you need to quickly tap the Call button continuously. After a few taps, the phone will display a screen with only Apple logo. This is an indication that you have finally bypassed the lockscreen and that the handset is making the call. The bug has been discovered by Karam Daoud, a Palestinian from the city of Ramallah.
And it would seem that there’s no way for iOS 7 users to somehow avoid this bug or fix it. Given the fact that this, and other issues of a critical nature, have been identified in iOS 7 so far, Apple needs to dish out a fix at the earliest and take care of all these problems.
It is natural for a new firmware release to contain bugs. However, if these bugs remain unpatched for long, this will cast a negative light on the new iOS 7 and make many iOS users reluctant to update. The silver lining here is that according to Daoud, he reported the bug to Apple upon which he was told by the company that a round of updates will soon be on its way to resolve this and many other iOS 7 quirks.
