For quite some time, analysts have been speculating about Windows Blue, the codename for the next OS that is expected from Microsoft. Until now, the software giant had divulged no particulars about Windows Blue. A few official details have finally landed on the web.
According to a recent interview of Chief Financial Officer of Windows client division, Tami Reller, Microsoft is gearing up to reveal Windows Blue details and may start sharing information on the new OS by next week. Reller further stated that in the coming week, the company will publicly reveal the pricing details as well as packaging particulars of Windows Blue.
As has been hinted in the past, Reller has confirmed that ‘Blue’ is just a codename. More importantly, she stated that Windows Blue would be more of a Windows 8 update, rather than a significant leap forth. However, she stopped short of revealing exactly what features will be offered through this update.
Reller didn’t provide an exact release date but she did say as much that the update may arrive sometime during the 2013 holiday season. The general gist of her interview is that Microsoft has been collecting customer feedback on Windows 8. And Windows Blue is simply going to be an update, addressing a number of issues in Windows 8 and incorporating the user feedback.
