The company is also speculated to have been testing its own smartphone. A new revelation suggests that Microsoft is also exploring the smartwatch arena.
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft has asked suppliers in Asia to ship components for a potential touch-enabled watch. The report cites unnamed executives working at the suppliers. One executive told the Journal about meeting Microsoft’s research and development team at Redmond, Washington regarding this matter.
However, it is still unclear if Microsoft is serious about producing smartwatches, or it is just exploring opportunities.
If Microsoft decides to enter the smartwatch sector, it may have to face competition from Apple iWatch, Samsung Altius, and Google watch.
