Gaming aficionados who bought the shiny new Play Station Vita and they are still sighing for the Play Station Games have just received some good news. As YouTube user homer49 reveals, he managed to stream games from his hacked PS3 to a PS Vita, with the help of the hacked firmware 3.55 and the Remote Play function is apparent for anyone looking with eyes popped out at the demo video.
This unexpected option covers games such as Battlefield 3, Red Dead Redemption, Batman: Arkham Aslyum, and other well known titles. So far remote play between PS3 and PS Vita is limited to a small number of games that are far from satisfying the hunger of die hard gamers.
As Eurogamer, the website that revealed the news for the gaming community explains, the new hack gives more power to users. “While official PlayStation Vita support for Remote Play was only introduced in the PS3’s 4.0 firmware, the new handheld is registered as a “mobile phone” on 3.55 and appears to function just fine.”
However, the hack also introduces a few flaws by displaying a less than acceptable picture quality and some lagging in the game playing. It is still time for the hacker to make the necessary adjustments and maybe for Sony to jump in and to offer official Remote Play support for more games.
