World Of Warcraft Exploit Turns Cities Into Death Traps

World of Warcraft is among some of the very popular games which enjoy a massive fan-following. Those playing the game were in for a surprise recently when some hackers exploited the game and turned a number of cities within the game into death traps. As a result, whenever a character would go near the affected city, he would die instantly.

The hack was pulled off naturally by someone or some group with expertise in game development and hacking. As a result of the exploit, whenever a player or a non-playing character would be in any of the cities listed ahead, they would die instantly.

The cities that were affected by this exploit include Draenor, Orgrimmar, Ragnaros, Twisting Nether, Tarren Mill and Stormwind. However, the good news are that Blizzard was quick to respond to this issue and has apparently removed the exploit through a hot-fix.

The company also released an official statement over the whole issue, which read:

“Earlier today, certain realms were affected by an in-game exploit, resulting in the deaths of player characters and non-player characters in some of the major cities. This exploit has already been hotfixed, so it should not be repeatable. It’s safe to continue playing and adventuring in major cities and elsewhere in Azeroth.

As with any exploit, we are taking this disruptive action very seriously and conducting a thorough investigation. If you have information relating to this incident, please email hacks@blizzard.com. We apologise for the inconvenience some of you experienced as a result of this and appreciate your understanding.”
