Which means now you are working directly using the power from the charger while you have a completely charged battery just resting. And you are probably right, keeping it plugged in will not have any notable harm.

Overheating Might Bake Your Laptop

So the first thing that happens to your Laptop is, it gets overheated. What is the minimum temperature that your Laptop can withstand? If your CPU/HDD temperature is 40 degrees Celcius, then you can keep it plugged in all the time without worrying about any damage to it. However, if your Laptop is running on a removable battery, you are better off keeping it not plugged in all the time. Recharge your laptop once it drains out completely.
