Xperia X10 Retailing For Just $1 On Contract

Xperia X10 goes on sale for just a dollar on contract and Android 2.3 Gingerbread-flavored future makes it appealing………

Motorola Droid X and the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 look set to be the first two existing Android smartphones which will get the bump up to Android 2.3 ahead of the pack. While the Motorola Droid X missed its Gingerbread update cue on March 27th, it is expected to roll out within the month right as soon as a couple of glitches are fixed. As for the Xperia X10, Sony Ericsson has come forward and stated it will fire out the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update within the next few months.Spotted at some unspecified Best Buy store, the currently Android 2.1-based handheld is retailing for $1.00 with the signing of a new two-year service agreement with AT&T,so this could very well be a final stock clearance of the handset available on a store-by-store basis. When the Android 2.3 update is made available for the Xperia X10 later this year, this could be considered the best deal for a Gingerbread-based smartphone if you act on the $1 promotion now.
