Before Apple launched the new iPad, a lot of analysts had been speculating that Apple may be contemplating including two dock connectors on its upcoming tablet. As it turned out, Apple didn’t do so in the new iPad and for the time being, it seemed that the news about two dock connectors was just a rumor. However, now, proof has surfaced which pretty much confirms that Apple did consider such an option.
The proof comes from an iPad prototype which is now on sale on eBay. According to the eBay listing, the iPad prototype has two dock connectors as well as a special diagnostic software from Apple called SwitchBoard.
Both the dock connectors on the iPad are fully functional. This quite confirms the speculation that Apple did consider two dock connectors for its tablet and even created prototypes to that end.
Moreover, the iPad that is being offered with two dock connectors on eBay is not new and has been used. Also, the touchscreen of the tablet is no longer working which makes it nearly impossible to use this special iPad for regular tablet usage.
However, if someone was to buy this, it would be done so as to collect a rare version of iPad. And that is why the starting price for the tablet is a whopping $4,800 and if you were to buy it immediately, it would cost you a cool $10,000.
