Apple Releases New iPad Smart Case

While Apple CEO Tim Cook and the Apple team were introducing all the new hardware and software during the Worldwide Developers Conference 2012 keynote, Apple then quietly introduced a new accessory that all iPad owners may want to check out. Apple has quietly rolled out a new Smart Cover named Smart Case for the iPad 2 and the new iPad, which protects the screen as well as the aluminium back casing.

The Smart Case offers the exact same functionality as the current Smart Cover, but adds protection for the rear of the device as well as the front. It is currently available in six colors – dark gray, light gray, blue, pink, green and red. Please be noted that the case will accept 2nd or 3rd generation iPads. These Smart Cases can wrap completely around the iPad. Like the Smart Cover, Smart Cases can be folded up into a stand. Apart from this, whenever you close or open the cover, the iPad automatically goes into sleep mode or wakes up from sleep mode.

It is absolutely different from Apple’s Smart Cover because Apple’s Smart Covers are also available in leather, but Smart Cases won’t be found in leather, rather it is made of polyurethane. The cost of Smart Case is $49. You can buy it from Apple.
