Prankster Managed To Post Fake 007 Job Listing In UK Government Site

UK government officials may sound a little too boring at times. But, they occasionally indulging in humor. So seemed to be the case when an official job site of the UK government recently posted a job listing seeking a “Target Elimination Specialist,” the job code being 007.

007 job listing

The job description is all the more amusing. It first states the purpose of the job, namely that ‘From time to time, the government has a need to remove people whose continued existence poses a risk to the effective conduct of public sector. So we require particularly skilled professionals who are prepared to work on a non-attributable basis to deal with these problems.’

The posting then goes on to say that you need to have a Bachelor’s degree, more than five years of experience and preferably, an experience in using sniper rifles. The contact information field holds a single email which is ‘mi6recruitment@hotmail.com.’

Apparently, some prankster has managed to trick the admin of the official job site into treating this hoax as real and post it online. The job portal which is part of a larger governmental project has recently been lambasted for being inefficient and erroneous.

Clearly, this new 007 job listing is not going to help the government’s case. By the way, in case you qualify, you get to have special watches, jet packs and your own submarines.
