Few days ago, giant social networking site Facebook was testing voice messaging and free VoIP calls through its Messenger App in Canada. Recently, Facebook has started to roll out free voice calls through its Messenger app for iPhone in the United States.
Facebook began testing free-calling over Wi-Fi and cellular data for Messenger for iPhone users in Canada. Then, it was promised that the service will be launched soon in the U.S. From January 16, Facebook has started to roll out free-calling over Wi-Fi and cellular data for all Messenger for iPhone users in the U.S.
To place a free call over Wi-Fi or a cellular connection using Facebook Messenger for iPhone, users just need to tap the “i” button which will be found at the upper right corner of an active chat and then press the “free call” button on the screen. Be noted, users won’t be able to make a Video call through this version of the app.
If you don’t have Facebook Messenger yet, you can find it in the Apple App Store, free. Though the feature is now available for U.S. Android users, it is expected that Android users will be able to get this service soon.
