Tim Cook Says Apple’s New Product Categories Coming In 2014

Apple announced financial results of its fiscal 2013 fourth quarter on September 28, 2013. In that event, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple confirmed that, Apple plans to introduce new product categories within 2014.

The company has mentioned that it has earned a quarterly revenue of $37.5 billion and a quarterly net profit of $7.5. Apple sold 33.8 million iPhone and 14.1 million iPad in September quarter which is a record. Last year in September quarter, the company sold 26.9 million iPhone and 14 million iPad.

“We’re pleased to report a strong finish to an amazing year with record fourth quarter revenue, including sales of almost 34 million iPhones” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

According to Cook, Apple believes that it can use its skills in building software, hardware, and services to create “great products” in categories that Apple does not participate in today. “We’re pretty confident about that,” said Cook.

As we all know Apple is rumored to be working on smartwatch known as iWatch and the device is rumored to be released in 2014 along with a Apple television set that includes a potential set-top box, replacing traditional cable boxes and many others innovative products.
