Mozilla And Foxconn Decide To Make Their Firefox OS Alliance Official

Foxconn was among the earliest companies to affirm faith in Mozilla’s Firefox OS. In the past, we have frequently heard rumors that Mozilla and Foxconn are working together to dish out Firefox OS devices. The two entities have decided to formally announce their partnership and show off some of the results of their collaboration.

Firefox OS

Firefox OS is still a very new contestant in the arena of mobile devices. However, Mozilla team has a good standing in the tech world at large and it can use this presence to make its Firefox OS devices a success. Whereas the Firefox OS itself is a fairly good piece of software, it remains to be seen exactly what kind of hardware will it run on.

Mozilla and Foxconn have rolled out invitations to an event in Taipei on next Monday. The event is intended as an official announcement of the collaboration between the two entities as well as an occasion where the duo will show off new Firefox OS devices.

Our bet is that we may finally be able to lay our hands on a high-end Firefox OS smartphone. However, there’s also the possibility that Mozilla comes out with a tablet running the new OS. Either way, on the said date, we will be bringing you updates of the event.
