Samsung Successfully Tested Its 5G Platform, Rollout In 2020

It seems the next generation mobile technology is reportedly ready for us. Samsung Electronics Co. just announced this Sunday that it has successfully developed the core technology behind 5G (fifth-generation) and tested its 5G platform. But the technology will be available to customers by 2020.

The company apparently needed 64 antenna elements to overcome the issue, so that the device could exchange real-time signals under the platform. Samsung says, “the new wireless technology will allow the users to access a stream of data faster than the current 4th-generation LET network and download an entire movie in less than a second”.

With this 5G platform, users will be able to download and upload data at speeds of up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps), compared to 75 megabits per second (Mbps) posted by the 4th-generation long-term evolution (LTE) service. Samsung has successfully transferred data at 1 Gbps using the 28 GHz (gigahertz) frequency band in recent tests.

We have also come to know that countries like China along with the EU (European Union) is investing large amount of money in the development of the new communication platform.
