Android Oreo: Polished, Refined And Perfect OS Ever

The wait is over for Android lover. Android Oreo is releasing very soon. Here are the latest features and the significant changes.

Android “Oreo” is the codename of upcoming Android OS. It might be released anytime. It will be the android version of 8.0.

There have lots of changes and features in this new operating system. So Android lovers are hopeful about Android O. Google had already released the alpha version of Android O on March 21. Now the question is what will Android O be called? Now the confirm name is Android Oreo!

Power Saving

In Android O, a new background service has added. It can change the whole app activities that run in the background. It limits lots of apps in the background. So you don’t have to use any extra apps to kill background apps. That’s why it saves your battery and decrease the power consumption.

Faster Boot Time and Apps performance

Android O has optimized for faster booting and improved apps performance. It can boot 2x faster than Nougat 7.0.

Redesigned Settings Menu and File Manager

Settings menu and File manager have redesigned like a new UI. The main background is white and notification icons and texts are black. The side navigation menu has removed that introduced in Nougat.
And the new file manager looks cool than older one but not like a super pro. It is good as compared to built-in apps. But the third app like “FX File Explorer” has much more features.

Navigation Bar and Layout Tuner

If you are a rooted user or custom ROM user then you will be a fan of Android O. You don’t ever have to root your phone to customize navigation bar. You can tweak navigation bar and layout of your on-screen buttons very easily.

Notification badges on app icons

This feature looks similar to iOS user. You will notice a notification dot or badge in the app icon whenever a notification will come. You have to hold and press on the icon to show the notification. It will show a short glimpse.

Lock Screen Shortcuts

Now you can change lock screen shortcuts to your own. It is another feature of System UI tuner. You can set a custom app to open with lock screen directly like selfie cam.

Picture-in-Picture Mode

This feature is similar to Android nougat split screen feature. But now you can do it in a very broader way. You can split, resize the window like windows pc. So you can watch youtube besides doing any other task in Android.

Brand New Battery Menu

A new battery menu with refined fresh UI. The battery usage graph looks polished and easier to read.

App Installer Progress Bar

When you install an app from app package, the progress bar will show actual progress. The old progress bar was shown infinite progress. So now you can determine how many time need to finish the installation.

Smart Text Selection

When you select text on something, you will notice an app suggestion beside copy, cut, delete options. If you select a number then a dialer app will appear. If you select an address then a map app will appear. So you can easily go to those apps direct from text selection.

Wi-Fi Aware

This is a brand new feature called “Wi-Fi Aware“. You can find another Android device without the connected with same wifi network. It will create a private network between them and you can share files with them very easily. It is much like “Apple AirPlay“.

New Emojis

Google has added some new emojis like blob-shaped smilies etc.
