HTC Desire Finally Get Android 2.3 Gingerbread!

HTC Desire owners to make a 180-degree turn from their decision not to release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for said smartphone which is quite surprising considering the 24 hour turnaround time. As of June 14th, there’s just “not enough memory” in the Desire for Gingerbread to run properly. HTC UK’s Facebook page has mentioned that “Contrary to what we said earlier, we are going to bring Gingerbread to HTC Desire.”

While it’s safe to assume that the Average Joe (or Jane) wouldn’t be able to recognize the difference between Android 2.2 and 2.3, folks clamoring for the update seem to have coerced the company to make things work.

If you are an HTC Desire owner, we do hope that this news would have galvanized your day, so make sure you enjoy Android 2.3 Gingerbread when it rolls out
