New Skype 2.6 For Android Allows Media Sharing

A hot update that the most popular VoIP software company just released on Android Market gives the users the possibility of sharing photos, video files, and even documents directly from the app. Skype 2.6 is available for Android 2.2 also known as Froyo since yesterday.

The new version of Skype is said of working on WiFi and 3G connections, but the software company advises users to have unlimited data plans which suggests the lack of data compression. The good news is that Skype 2.6 is designed to have a positive effect on the battery life. In addition, the new app promises better voicemail, as well as better vide performance on NVIDIA Tegra 2 devices. For this reason, users who will install Skype’s latest version on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Motorola XOOM, and the Acer Iconia Tab should be the first to enjoy the good news. The previous version, Skype 2.5, had the equally good support for Android.

So far, Skype offered limited support for video calling on Android devices, but the company is working on expanding the list of devices that can deliver Skype video services, by testing more brands to ensure the video experience is at a high level of performance. Lately, on the whitelisted devices were included HTC Amaze 4G and the Motorola DROID RAZR.
