[Review] Sony Cyber-shot TX200V, WX70 And WX50

Sony’s Cyber-shot TX200V is a point-and-shoot camera that comes packed with nearly all the latest point-and-shoots tools Sony has introduced. It comes with an excellent OLED display, a reinforced glass front which makes it look really cool and has an 18-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor. It’s light-weight, nifty and cute, and is perfect for who want a camera to look like a camera.

Sony Cyber-shot TX200V:
The first and the foremost thing to note about this camera is the display. The screen size is 3.3 inches with a 16:9 ratio and the display is a 1.2-million-dot-resolution OLED display! This makes it one of the clearest displays-in-cameras in the market.

Moreover, there are some important external controls. For instance, the zoom toggle is at the top.  An interesting feature of this camera is that it is waterproof up to 16 feet. Not only that, it is dust-proof and freeze-proof. This makes an ideal choice for such photographers who don’t want to carry heavier DSLR cameras and may have to do some reckless shooting.

Sony Cyber-shot WX70:
WX70 looks more like what a camera should look like. The lens extends away from the body when you wish to shoot, so this is essentially a difference of design from that of TX200V. Also, the camera can perform much better in low-light conditions that earlier models, according to Sony. WX70 is a 16-megapixel camera with 25-125 mm lens and with Exmor R backside-illuminated CMOS sensor. The display size is 3 inches. It also features a mini-HDMI port on the side.

Sony Cyber-shot WX50:
WX50 is nearly identical to WX70 except in screen size. Compared to 3-inch display of WX70, WX50 comes with a 2.7-inch screen and has a 460k-dot-resolution.
