Sony’s Two Lens-Camera Leaked, Works With Smartphones

Lately, Sony‘s two lens-camera leaked in a promo shot by SonyAlphaRumors. The leaked shots show there is DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 lenses that can be attached to smartphones. The lenses are actually full-fledged cameras without view-finder/display or usual camera controls.

This is a completely new idea to shoot top quality images with your smartphone that we haven’t seen before. The lenses have built-in sensor, Bionz processor, Wi-fi/NFC wireless connection and SD card slot. Users will be able to control the lenses through smartphone or tablet (via Wi-Fi or NFC). The lenses can be magnetically attached on your smartphone and it works on both, Android and iOS devices. These lenses can be easily attached to smartphones or tablets and function like any point-and-shoot camera.

The big lens-camera in above photo uses a 1-inch sensor, which is also used in Nikon 1 system. On the other hand, the second lens-camera packs a 10x zoom lens with 1/2, 3-inch 18-megapixel CMOS sensor.

The price and exact release date of these lenses have not been revealed. But the promo hints that Sony is planning to reveal this for its IFA press event.
