ASUS Is Ready With Windows 8 Devices, Pre-Order Going On

Yesterday, Microsoft has announced the availability of Windows 8 Pro retail upgrade pack and as well as devices from OEM vendors. Initially, vendors including Acer, Asus, Dell,HP, Samsung and Sony are taking pre-order of Windows 8 devices. Among them, Asus seems to have the most diverse portfolio at this moment. The company is currently opened its Windows 8 portfolio to consumers with the TAICHI 21 dual-screen convertible, the VivoBook X202 touchscreen notebook and the VivoTab Rt (the listing short-lived in newegg.com before being removed for unknown reasons). The TAICHI 21 1.7GHz Core i5, 128GB SSD price starts at $1,300 and 1.9GHz Core i7 plus 256GB SSD costs $1,600. The VivoBook X202 touchscreen laptop is priced at $600 for 11.6-inch touchscreen, a 1.8GHz Core i3, 4GB of RAM and 500GB HDD. Both the devices are available for pre-order at ASUS official website. The Asus VivoTab RT tablet will cost $599 for 32GB of storage and 2GB of memory, but pre-order is currently unavailable.
