This year’s CES is about to begin. Chinese multinational electronics company Lenovo is going to unveil a 27-inch portable “Table PC” named IdeaCentre Horizon at the CES 2013. This multi-touch all-in-one portable device can convert into a tablet-like device.
The IdeaCentre Horizon Tablet PC weighs 17.8 pound and its thickness is 1.1-inch. The device features Intel’s Core i3 chip, Nvidia GeForce GT 620M graphics, 27-inch 1920 x 1080-pixel touch screen, 1TB hard drive, included keyboard and mouse, a large built-in battery that can provide power back up for up to two hours. The device has some built-in app including Draw Race 2 HD, King of the Opera and Paint, and Color Corner. Users will be able to access 120 streaming channels using an app called FilmOn TV.
Though the IdeaCentre Horizon is not designed to be used as a tablet, still it can be used as a tablet. The device can transform into a huge tabletop screen once its rear kickstand is folded down. When the device is laid on a table, a specialized user interface named “Moon Dial” pops up. It allows users to interact with the computer from any angle. Lenovo’s special “Aura multi-user UI” lets users play family style games, run educational apps, and move photos and videos around a virtual desktop. Lenovo has also input a functionality called “phygital,” which is a combination of “physical” and “digital” and can interact with the screen via joysticks, dice and an air hockey mallet. The price of IdeaCentre Horizon Tablet PC is $1699. Lenovo expects to release this “Table PC” in summer.
